Since you're all about telling the truth - why don't you lead by example? Start with your congregation. Then tell us your name. Also can you answer why it is that all that the JWs provide you via association, congregation meetings, literature, conventions, their very own web sites, etc. - is not enough for you? What is it that is missing from your life that makes you want to come to a JW forbidden site like this and engage in apologetic tantrums? Are you just not satisfied with all the spiritual provisions from the WT org? Come on now, tell the truth.

Children of adult ex-jw's
by man in black inmy wife and i were both jw's for the past 28 years.
we left two years ago, we wrote our da letters and split.. my wife felt very contained, there was no room to grow.
i started to fade slowly, but when my mom died, i saw the complete lack of love from the brothers and that sealed the deal for me.. we have two sons, 22 and 26, who we raised as witnesses, not the die hard type, just try and do your best.

Update:Elders still using passive/agressive & Confrontation with JW mom
by Coffee House Girl inwell, i am glad my brother called and forwarned me this was comming...i got to come on here and get so much good advise from you people.
it actually started friday nite....my door bell was buzzing at 7pm, this time they parked their car so that they thought i couldn't see it but i climbed up my kitchen counter and could see the rear end of the car by peeking out that window.
it was the same elder as before.. an hour after that: must be mom couldn't stand it anymore & she called me crying.

Hey tellthetruth - not to interject on behalf of CHG, but it's not her who is not getting on with her life. It's the religion she left quite a while ago. They are stalking her. She owes them no answers. What makes you think anybody is obligated to answer some creepy men that hide out spying on you at your home. They're lucky she hasn't called the cops on them.
Anyway - you're new and it sounds like you're defending the elders, so maybe you're still active. If so, do you do the right thing? Will you be telling the elders that you're on this site and associating with disfellowshipped people?

Great - another apologetic JW comes on here and judges everyone around him with a false air of authority. Chi you have 4 posts under your belt. You label someone swine. Yet apparently, the association and literature and meetings of the Watchtower is not enough for you. You still feel the need to be on this site, associating and discussing your religion with ones you deem "swine". That's nice. Someone remind why I am not a JW again?
For a reference - the context of this part of the sermon on the mount: Matt 7:1-5 - Chi - you just reminded me of this counsel:
1 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2 For you will be treated as you treat others. a The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. b
3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye c when you have a log in your own? 4 How can you think of saying to your friend, d ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.
Way to take a scripture out of context. But it's how you were taught so you win a prize.

by Smoky induring russell's time, when preaching door to door, if a person learn the truth, had a bible study, then learned and did not agree with the pyramid relationship to 1914, and did not become a jw subsuquently.
when the person dies.
does he have a hope for resurection, after rejecting the current truth at the time?.

What about all the ones that left the org when 1925 came and past, proving Rutherford a fraud? I believe Dwight Eisenhower's father left due to this. It's interesting in the latest video, they speak so patronizingly of the many that left in 1914 when their rapture falied to occur as Russell claimed God and the bible promised. All these people that observed many doctrines fail and change, are spoken of as disloyal and impatient. But yet, interestingly enough they are probably seen as worthy of the resurrection by JW standards.

at first i spoke with them for her sake, then found i liked them anyway.
what i didn't like was the literature, especially the stuff trying to disprove evolution.

Hey SBC - what's up bro? You can't really blame JWs for trying to play with others that are just way out of their league.
First, they are told that the Awake and Insight books exceed the education of a 4 year university degree. (Although, funny story, one time in college I was trying to use Awake as a reference for something I was researching. The professor totally schooled me, and told me not to ever use religous pamplets as a credible reference. She said I could rewrite the report to be re-graded using peer-reviewed scholarly references or take a D- as a grade. I ditched the CD rom and decided to use real research from there on out. But, I caught one or two fellow students not only using the WT publications for their papers - but plagerizing them word for word - without citing any references. I called a few out on this too, told them that cheating by plagerizing from WT pubs is an interesting way to give a Witness.)
Second - you have these committees like HLC that go to a seminar where an anesthesiolgist gives a 20 min. presentation. So all the sudden that makes these guys experts. They have no medical training whatsoever, but because they go to a seminar here and there, they think they're equipped to handle discussions on a professional level. Of course, most of these guys don't even know CPR - and they're supposed to give us the final guidance in medical life threatening emergencies?? So yeah - debator/reniaa is a good representation of the arrogance that the religion teaches it's adherents.
She, like most JWs, (she's more "brazen" though in that she doesn't believe rules about association/debating with apostates apply to her) has no idea what she is talking about. She's never had any education in anything she discusses, yet thanks to her religion, thinks she has all the answers. Yep who needs college - when you got Awake?

Another thing that bothered me - how amazing was it that Noah could start out and end up in the same region (middle east) when all was said and done? Floating on an ocean-covered earth for many months... what are the odds that you'd end up in the same region you started out at? As I've always said, the math just doesn't add up when it comes to the noah/flood story.

I've never read CoC. I didn't need to read it to learn JWs are not the "truth". I learned that on my own through personal study. Only the Bible and Watchtower publications. However, whenever I read Reniaa's posts, the powerful hypocrisy of her flawed "debate" arguments leaves nothing but total assurance that JWs are more deluded than I ever imagined.
Every time she posts, 5 doubting lurkers decide their doubting days are over. They immediatey make plans to move forward beyond the WT. Reniaa/Debator thinks she is special because she believes she has a pass to associate with disfellowshipped apostates on this site and get into debates - all against specific instruction from the governing body to NOT do exactly what she is doing. The more she posts, the less sense she makes, all while disobeying the organization she is trying to defend. The governing body and congregation elders are disgusted with her disobedience and how bad she makes them look. Her multiple posts often contradict themselves. So in the end she helps many doubting lurkers come to the realization that if they stay a JW, they could end up as crazy and nutty as her.
Thanks to her, hundreds of lurkers have moved forward far beyond the WT. So Reniaa/Debator - please don't stop posting. You have helped more people see the craziness in WT than anybody else that ever posted here. You deserve a prize.

I know it's hard to believe, but most people don't follow around a crazy lady that posts nonsensical hallucinations while at the same time trying to come off as someone versed in science. Add to that, reading War and Peace is easier to get through than some of your lengthy posts. Much less, 5000+ of them.
Look, I wish you no ill will. Really I don't. I know you don't want to seek medical help for your condition. You have some people that know you and see you as harmless, so they're cool with overlooking your symptoms. My initial concern when I read some of your posts, was that some doubting undecided lurkers would read your posts and get concerned that if they were to move on from the JWs, they could possibly end up as batshit crazy as you. Had I not already found my way on my own accord, and instead came here first and saw your posts - I probably would have had second thoughts about moving on from JWs. However I now realize you have exhibted symptoms of your condition while you were a JW.
So you go on, keep writing about your halluncinations, your supposed literal Jewish heritage, and all your self-created delusions of being persecuted on this board. Pretending thatall this, here on the interweb, is a literal persecution from nonbelievers directed at you will only push you further into your mania. When really, it's about as pathetic as claiming graffiti in a truckstop bathroom is the kind of persecution the LORD, (Praise Baby Jesus Hallelujah, Peace to you) prophesied would come upon you. So go ahead now - read some quotes from Ezekiel in a Samuel Jackson kind of way -shout it out in an internet shout kind of way, to all the scientists, historians, and linguists, who disagree with you and your secondary mind-created persona.
The only thing more pathetic - is a guy like me actually spending 3 minutes of my life making a reply to someone that desperately needs crazy pills. Because, that silence that you heard when nobody replied to your wanna-go-head-to-head-with-scientists-about-creation post - that silence wasn't a concession. That was more like the silence Jesus gave when being falsely accused. Not answering something that makes no sense, and has no basis, and is so obviously wrong, needs no reply. Which really is what I should've done with this thread. Nonetheless, I've spent 3 going on 4 minutes here now - and I realize I do get at least one benefit. I get some practice and reminders of what it's like trying to talk to my JW friends who still think their beliefs are absolute truth. They never budge, nor reason, nor open themselves up to being wrong. It's good to remind myself what it's like to try and talk with them. So to you , dear Aguest, I wish peace to you hopefully which you'll obtain by seeking medical help, but I also thank you, for this excellent example of what it's like to reason with a deeply deluded JW.
